Every staff member at Drug Prevention Resources has one overarching responsibility: to do whatever it takes to keep kids and young people away from drugs and alcohol. We know that 90 percent of addiction begins in the teen years. We also know that addiction is 100 percent preventable. That’s why we show up in classrooms and communities every day with hearts and minds ready to inspire leaders and make prevention a reality for all students and community members. You have our commitment and our promise to provide the best resources, talent and services possible so that this generation of teens becomes tomorrow’s drug prevention leaders.
Our in-school prevention educators travel between districts delivering our multi-week Positive Action and Project Towards No Tobacco Use curricula which emphasize solid decision-making skills when offered cigarettes, drugs or alcohol. To learn more, click here.
We have seven community-based groups called IMPACT coalitions. We provide training in program development, coalition building, strategic planning and facilitation techniques for coalitions. For information about how your community can implement an IMPACT coalition, click here.

WE WERE THE FIRST PREVENTION NON-PROFIT IN TEXAS
Drug Prevention Resources’ pioneers implemented what are still some of the most successful prevention approaches today--individual education, capacity-building and environmental change. Today, some 80 years later, we provide the latest strategies for youth, families and communities to be safer, healthier and drug-free. Although we regularly respond to statewide and national initiatives, our primary focus is on high-risk populations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
IN THE LAST DECADE
Creating healthy communities for children and teens is the backbone of our work.
We’re proud of the programs we take to schools, community organizations and civic groups.
Our staff is 100% committed to the youth and families in North Central Texas.
Our community coalitions take part in local, state and national initiatives. Please get involved!
